The Vulcan Zig Release is intended to allow the safe and tangle free release of long zigs from the bait boat.
This product has been designed to work with the under handle mounting of the GS Tackle Vulcan V2 Hopper Divider, this modular approach minimises outlay and necessary bracketry for those that have already purchased the hopper divider. The Zig Release utilises a dovetail joint to slide onto the under handle mount which remains attached to the boat, however we have designed it so the remaining part is hidden under the handle of the boat and does not impact the usability of the boat when the Zig Release or Hopper divider is is not being used.
Once the under-the-handle mount is assembled onto the boat, the Zig Release can be attached in approx 5 seconds, firstly by sliding it onto the dovetail joint then fastening the supplied M5 thumbscrew into place to ensure the Zig Release body stays in place. The spool of the Zig Release contains a magnet behind the hook indicator which shows the correct orientation to lay the hook, and therefore wind the the excess long hook length around the curved part of the spool.
The body of the spool holder uses small angles to create a required slight pressure to remove the spool from the holder - this ensures the spool can’t jump out of the slot or be lost during operation.
We have designed the parts to be really robust, but lightweight and fit the hull of the Vulcan like a glove.
The body of the Zig Release is manufactured from the highest quality 3D printed ASA filament, and the spool is manufactured from high quality PETG (to ensure adequate strength and wear resistance on the spool ends)

Partial Kit : If you already have a Vulcan V2 Hopper Divider please select this cheaper kit without under handle mounting. Full Kit : If you do not have a Vulcan V2 Hopper Divider you will need the full kit, as this kit will come with the under handle mounting.
PLEASE NOTE : This Zig Release ONLY fits the mk2 or V2 Boatman Vulcan boat without the rear cross brace, and NOT the MK1 or V1. This is designed to be used with the clip on handle that is provided with the boat, if you don’t use the clip on handle then you may find the mounting assembly a little uncomfortable to use.
